What if We Can't Attend in Person?
We offer two other options for couples who prefer not to visit us due to work and/or other conflicts.
- Counseling via Zoom. While we believe in-person is the best option, sometimes it is easier or more convenient for couples to do the retreat online. We are willing to meet with couples using Zoom. We will need to mail the manuals to you before the retreat (at your expense), and there are three books that we will ask you to purchase beforehand.
When choosing the setting for the Zoom meetings, we ask that you remove and limit the distractions as much as possible. We would still encourage couples to avoid work and home responsibilities as much as possible to focus on one another and heal their marriage during the retreat. Finally, you will ensure your internet connection is strong and stable for the retreat. The cost of the retreat is the same as listed above.
- A counselor comes to you. We are willing to go to you and conduct a private intensive marriage retreat provided you pay for the counselor's travel expenses (airfare, lodging, food, and rental car if applicable) and the retreat cost. This amount will be figured out before the trip and paid in advance. You would also be responsible for ensuring a quiet, distraction-free location to meet each day.
We are located in the beautiful metro areas of
Charlotte, NC & Greenville, NC.
Sometimes couples will try to combine some time after their Intensive Retreat for a mini vacation.
We are close to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport which has many direct flights from all over the country "and if Greenville is more your pace, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is another option as well as catching one of the multiple daily flights right into Greenville." 85% of our couples come to us from out of state and since we are an International Ministry, we also see couples from outside the US.
Charlotte, NC
Charlotte is a major metropolitan area known for it’s great restaurants, museums, gardens, galleries and trolley car tours. If you stay a bit after your Intensive Retreat, don’t miss visiting the “Butterfly Pavilion” where you enter into an arboretum with hundred’s of butterflies. It’s not uncommon to have a dozen butterflies lite on you. It’s very relaxing and fun!
Greenville, NC.
Greenville is considered a bit more rural while still being the largest metropolitan area east of I-95 and known as the cultural, medical and economic hub of Eastern North Carolina. It includes East Carolina University, a world class hospital as well as nature parks, a town commons and a nearly 10 miles of greenway, much of it along the banks of the Tar River. If you truly want to slow down you’ll definitely want to visit or stay in the historic waterfront town of “Little” Washington established in 1776 (the original Washington before DC). The waterfront path and marina offers a relaxing place to stroll or stop at one of the many shops or restaurants or even take a kayak or boat out on the water.
